The Behavioral Health Department at The Greater Hudson Valley Family Health Center (GHVFHC) serves the needs of adults, children, adolescents, and families.
All of our providers are bi-lingual in English and Spanish. By providing this service, confidentiality is constantly maintained because translators are not necessary. This also allows clients to express themselves and obtain feedback more easily.
The goal of treatment is to improve the quality of life of our patients.
Through the use of initial psycho-social assessments, and psychiatric assessments, we identify our client’s problems and needs; goals are identified with each patient so that treatment is individualized. We then follow through with a treatment approach to focus on each problem area.
Treatment often includes “talk therapy” or psychotherapy to work through problems with a therapist; and may also include medication that would be prescribed by the psychiatrist.
All sessions are by appointment; though we are often called to an exam room when a patient, being seen by a medical provider, is in crisis.
All services are confidential, though we encourage clients to involve their supportive family members in their treatment.
